The period of teething is very unpleasant, stressful, and exhausting for the baby and parents. And unfortunately, there are not many things we can do to help our babies go through it.

When I was looking for something to help my daughter feel better I found teething amber necklaces and bought one to try. Well, I use homeopathy and teething toys, but also this necklace. And because I am satisfied with it I decided to write about the teething amber necklaces. I am sure that all things help.

This amber necklace giving to my baby some relief. I saw that. You can try it to see if it will work for you too. They are not very expensive, so why not. I usually put it on the neck of my baby twice a day for two-three hours while she is awake and when she is most restless and nervous. For safety reasons I am doing this always when I can supervise her, but never while she sleeps.

What about an amber necklace?

All amber necklaces are made from Baltic Amber, which is the fossilized resin from the sap of conifer trees and is known for having higher levels of succinic acid. The Baltic region pertains to the countries around the Baltic Sea and is home to the largest known deposit of amber (called Baltic amber or succinite).

Baltic amber comes in a variety of colors – brown, yellow, black, red, green, white, and blue. And the most popular for baby teething necklaces are brown, orange, and yellow. It is believed that the child’s body heats the amber, which results in the release of oils containing succinic acid. Then, the succinic acid gets absorbed into the body through the baby’s skin and relieves the pain.

Succinic acid is found in many vitamin supplements and is used in medicine and cosmetics. Because succinic acid is soothing, antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting, and calming.

Baltic amber is a few species – raw, unpolished, and polished. Raw Baltic amber necklaces are made with natural, untreated beads. This type of amber bead interacts with the skin more and the result of wearing it is usually more quickly absorbed through the skin. Unpolished Baltic amber beads are taken from the raw form, rounded and shaped, and have a matte finish in appearance. This one lay more comfortably against the skin and the healing properties are as powerful as those in raw amber. Polished Baltic amber is a highly polished and shiny surface. They are more popular because of a more contemporary shape and appeal. And polished Baltic amber has very same exceptional ability to enhance our wellness as well as heal us.

Are the amber teething necklaces efficient?

The answer depends on who you ask. Many mamas have sworn that the amber teething necklace helped their child find relief from teething discomfort. And that was helpful for my baby too. I don’t use it every day and that’s why it is possible to see that my daughter feels calmer during the days she wears the amber necklace.

How to use amber teething necklaces?

Choose an appropriate size – the necklace should not be too short or too long.

You can distract your baby after you put it on, so the baby forgets about the necklace.

The amber necklaces must be in direct contact with the skin.

You have to remove it during bedtime, while sleeping, or on a long car trip.

You have to supervise your baby.

The babies can start wearing amber teething necklaces after the fourth month. And they are usually worn until the baby is 3 years old, because around that age teething stops.

And remember, Amber necklaces are strictly not a toy, and babies should not chew or play with them.
